Frequently Asked Questions

What age groups do you serve?

We serve players from 1st through 12th grades. A scoopers program is an option if there are enough interested preK & K players or 1st grade players not interested in game play. Players are grouped by grade level regardless of age.

What is the cost to play?

Youth teams cost $145 to register plus the cost of USA LAcrosse membership. High school player registration is $170 + the cost of USA Lacrosse membership. Drop-ins and clinics are free or with a small requested donation.

Do you offer clinics without commitment to a team?

Yes, we offer drop-in lacrosse during the fall and at least one clinic to promote growth of the sport. These are free to the community and are lead by our coaches and older players.

Where do your teams play?

Our teams utilize various fields in the county for practices: Sam Micahels Park, James Hite Park, Leetown Park, Wildwood Middle School. Youth home games are generally played at James Hite Park and high school home games are generally played at Wildwood Middle School.

The coaches are great. Practice fields are some of the best we have ever seen. My son loves it. Home grown organization."

About us

Jefferson County Wild Lacrosse Club is located in Shenandoah Junction, WV and is dedicated to developing and promoting the sport of lacrosse in the region. We were founded in 2021 with the support of the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission (JCPRC) by a high school athlete and his family when there was no local option to play lacrosse at a high school level. Our first year, we successfully fielded a men's high school team playing in the spring 2022 season. The commitment to grow the game locally and to be competitive in our leagues spurred development of our youth program which debuted in spring 2023 season. We also added women's high school and girls youth programs as well to round out our offerings for all ages. Summer 2024 saw a Scoopers program for 4-6 year olds which is anticipated to continue for the spring 2025 season. Our coaches provide group coaching and individualized support to help players of all ages and skill levels unlock their potential. We offer group clinics, team coaching and league play to help each athlete develop their skill and love for the sport of lacrosse. Our goal is to create an encouraging and welcoming atmosphere for players of all skill levels to learn, grow, and succeed. We are committed to offering lacrosse for all interested players regardless of ability, race, finances, educational background or gender. The Jefferson County Wild Lacrosse Club is a financially self-sufficient program within the JCPRC that utilizes fundraisers, grants, sponsorships and registration funds to cover costs of its programming.
